The Great Escape’s Fright Fest® Returns this Weekend

Scare Season is Back with Thrills and Chills for The Whole Family

LAKE GEORGE, NY — September 30, 2021 — The Great Escape, upstate New York’s most thrilling theme park, transforms into a scream park this weekend with the return of the most anticipated event of the season, Fright Fest presented by SNICKERS.® The theme park’s largest and most chilling celebration, features entertaining dance shows, startling scare zones, and horrifying haunted houses. The Great Escape is also extending the fright by opening up the theme park in the evenings for more Fright by Night scares, on Fridays, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. beginning October 8.

“We’re thrilled to bring Fright Fest back to The Great Escape this season,” said Six Flags Great Escape Resort President Rebecca Wood. “With festive daytime events and terrifying nighttime attractions, we’re offering thrills and chills for the whole family,” added Wood.

All Fright Fest shows, scare zones, and world-class thrill rides are included with park admission, Memberships, and Season Passes. Haunted attractions require an additional fee. The Great Escape’s Fright Fest kicks off this Saturday, October 2, and runs Fridays and weekends through October 31. Guests at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark can enjoy HallowFest, starting this Friday, October 1 through Saturday, October 30.

Thrills by Day

When the park opens for the day, little monsters under the age of 12, can showcase their creative costumes during fun events like the Monster Mash Dance Party or the walkthrough Trick-or-Treat Trail, available on Saturdays and Sundays.

Fright by Night

Once the clock strikes 5 p.m., for those brave enough to stay, the demons, monsters, and freaks, are unleashed and they will show no mercy. Here is this year’s Fright by Night lineup at The Great Escape:

  • Haunted Attractions – Skull Manor, CarnEVIL and Nightmare at CrackAxle;
  • Scare Zones – Dark Oaks Graveyard, and Infested;
  • Frightful Shows, including the return of The Awakening, which kicks off the night with a high energy show hosted by Malcolm Massacre and a large-scale zombie takeover; and
  • Dark Coasters & Extreme Thrills – If the ghouls don’t get to guests first, the park’s collection of dark coasters and attractions will keep them screaming into the darkness.

HallowFest

Goblins, ghosts and ghouls return to the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark starting this Friday, October 1 through October 30, for HallowFest. The entire family can enjoy trick-or-treat candy, a monster mash dance party, spooky tales, and crafts during their stay for this kid-friendly seasonal event. After experiencing the fun and fright of HallowFest, guests can escape to the warm tropics of the indoor waterpark, White Water Bay.

Six Flags & Coca-Cola AR Experience

Six Flags, Coca-Cola®, and Fanta® have teamed up to deliver four innovative augmented reality experiences to park guests this year. Each of the featured experiences will reveal a hidden “scare” within the Fright Fest-inspired AR scenes that allow users to create spine-shivering, sharable content. These web-based AR experiences will be available by scanning onsite QR codes, Six Flags drink bottles, or the Fright Fest logo. Guests can also visit the Fanta® photo booth experience inside the park, which puts users into the middle of a zombie attack.

Specialty Food & Beverage Experience

For a limited time only, guests can also enjoy special Fright Fest food and beverage offerings like the Funnel Scream Cake featuring SNICKERS®, a Fright Fest favorite, and the new Frightening Fanta® Fizz drink made with Fanta® Orange, candy corn syrup, whipped cream and sprinkles, available in a limited-edition souvenir cup.
